I've seen that a Kyotaku have 7 nodes, all holes are placed on top in the centerline of the instrument, ... There are 7 nodes on mine but they aren't centerlined and the tuning isn't the same as my shakuhachi. I wish to know what I'm playing on because my flutes are friends for me and I like to know the friends I live with. Any hints? I want to say that I didn't know anything about Kyotakus until I got this flute and now, I'm always reading about - I even bough Nishimura's CD- With many thank

kyotaku population is very much limited .the way of blowing is different from Shakuhachi. There is no kyyotaku  teacher in U,S.A.

You have to get a Kyotaku and same time need a teacher .

Sorry for late response
